Communities of Practice - Multicultural Health

Join our Multicultural Health Community of Practice (CoP) to learn with other like-minded practitioners, further develop your local referral networks, and participate in information sharing to improve the health of your Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) patients.

Target Audience: All primary health care professionals and other interested services.

Topics:
Engaging with diverse communities in preparing for the NDIS: AMPARO Advocacy will provide an overview of their service and their work providing NDIS information to CALD communities. AMPARO Advocacy defends, protects and promotes the rights and interests of vulnerable people from a non-English speaking background who have a disability.

Case study – navigating a complex refugee client (Centrelink, disability and trauma): Presented by Jatinder Kaur, Mental Health Accredited Social Worker, and Director of JK Diversity Consultants.
